COUPLE'S SPOTLIGHT: Tabitha and Ross

COUPLE'S SPOTLIGHT: Tabitha and Ross

We first met Tabitha and Ross over a year ago--we can hardly believe their big day is already in less than a month! Read below to learn a bit more about these two cuties.

1. HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?

Rowing! I had recently moved to the area and I had made a girlfriend who suggested that I come out and row with her. Since I had never tried it I thought I would give it a go. I started rowing with the women's team regularly and one night we had an open seat in the boat, so the coach reached out to the mixed team for participation and little did I know, but my future husband showed up that night.

2. WHAT'S THE PROPOSAL STORY?

Ross was rowing on the men's team for the Alcatraz Island race, which is in very difficult water. I had volunteered to be the bow hook- which is essentially the coach/cheerleader who sits behind the rowers and encourages and corrects them. That year, Alcatraz was terrible!! Only one team crossed the finish line, the rest had to be towed in or use a separate entrance. We were on the water for about 2 and half hours, but going nowhere. After that we decided to hang around the city for the day and it ended up coming up. I don't think he had planned it that way, but it was perfect.

3. WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO BOOK THE LIGHTHOUSE FOR YOUR BIG DAY?

Love at first sight! We had looked at several venues and nothing seemed to fit our personality or style. When we walked in to the Lighthouse it was perfect. Simple, yet fantastically elegant and right on the water- where we used to row together. It just seemed perfect!

4. WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO ON YOUR BIG DAY?

Family! I'm so excited to bring our families together.

And we are lucky to be able to witness the joining of your two families! See you next month, Tabitha and Ross!

A New 5-Star Review

THE LIGHTHOUSE RECEIVES A NEW 5-STAR REVIEW

Our December couple, Mark and Sara, were SUCH a pleasure to work with and we were thrilled to host their wedding ceremony and reception here at The Lighthouse. Of all the wonderful venues in the Bay Area and in Northern California as a whole, we are always so honored when a couple chooses our little venue in Vallejo as the backdrop for such an important day! We are even more blown away when they take time out of their busy schedules to write a review for us!

The following review was posted on WeddingWire and Yelp:

We somehow thankfully stumbled up on the Lighthouse at Glen Cove as we were searching for our wedding venue. It was love at first sight. It is the most charming and beautiful location we could have ever asked for. Marie is a huge part of what made our experience so wonderful. She was super helpful and responsive and accommodating. She literally pulled out a bobby pin from her hair and gave it to me as my hair was falling in one place right before I walked down the aisle. She's that amazing. We also rented the residence upstairs the night before the wedding, which only added to the overall experience. It was lovely and comfortable, and made getting ready super easy. There are a ton of great photo ops at this location - the entire building and grounds are very beautiful. Everyone who attended had only really great things to say about the venue. Would highly recommend the lighthouse, and again, extra praise to Marie who does an absolutely fantastic job.
