As mentioned in our anniversary blog post--we've had the pleasure of connecting with some of the most supportive vendors, not just in the Bay Area, but in the industry as a whole. One such small business we were lucky to cross paths with very early in our journey was Shop Candy Crush, and its innovative and driven owner/operator: Jeannette Quintero.

In Jeanette's online shop, you can peruse through and purchase some seriously adorable party supplies (I mean, c'mon look at some of this stuff):

...and the most amazing selection of one-of-a-kind linens. I'm not kidding you, folks...her curated collection is drool-worthy.

You can also find some incredible event design inspiration via her blog, because Jeanette's talents aren't limited to linens and décor--she's an incredible stylist as well. She's got an eye for making things sparkle--both figuratively and literally ;)

We've had the pleasure of working with Shop Candy Crush on a number of shoots and events, and we're continually amazed by Jeanette's sense of design, her resources, and her passion for the industry. Through her we've been connected with other like-minded companies and individuals, and we're eternally grateful for that.

If you're looking to add a bit of sparkle or texture to your big day, we highly recommend checking out Shop Candy Crush :)

Until next time!

COUPLE'S SPOTLIGHT: Kathryn and Greg

We always love to hear the fun and unique stories behind how our Lighthouse couples met (which probably explains why our Couple's Spotlight feature is one of our faves), and this next featured couple is no exception.

We couldn't stop smiling when we got the photos in our inbox from this picture perfect pair who, in just a few short weeks, will be sharing their vows and tying the knot here at The Lighthouse! Below, Kathryn shares the story of how she met Greg and how he proposed. Oh, and did we mention the sweet sentiments she shares about our venue? Stop Kathryn, you're making us blush! ;)

1) How did you and Greg meet?

(By Kathryn)

We initially met online.  After exchanging a few messages, I learned that Greg was a frequent gym-goer.  Unbeknownst to either of us, we had been working out at the same gym for over a year.  One day shortly after meeting online, I was at the gym and I happened to see Greg and recognized him from his online profile photo, so I introduced myself.  We made arrangements to go out on our first date that next weekend and the rest is history.

2) What's the proposal story?

Greg proposed to me while we were on vacation in Hawaii.  We went to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner the first night were there.  Afterwards, we walked out on the beach.  Greg said he had something he wanted to read me.  He began to read me a poem he wrote.  He is known for writing me funny quirky poems, so I just thought it was another one of his poems.  As the poem progressed, I realized this was something much more and it concluded with him down on one knee asking me to be his wife.

3) What made you decide to book The Lighthouse for your big day?

We had looked at a few wedding venues, but nothing felt right. My caterer recommended that I check out the Lighthouse. Marie was able to set Greg and I up with a tour right away. As soon as we saw The Lighthouse, we knew it was for us. The venue is so beautiful and charming. We love everything - the succulents, large lawns (perfect for our lawn games!), palm trees, modern banquet room, the inn upstairs, and of course the view of the marina and surrounding waters. The customer service from day one has been amazing!

4) What are you most looking forward to about your wedding?

Celebrating with all of our loved ones from near and far!

Aside from the beauty of our property here at The Lighthouse, we always strive for great customer service and are so happy to hear from our clients when our hard work comes through! Thanks so much, Kathryn and Greg - we cannot wait to see how you two transform our space and all the amazingness you have up your sleeves for next month!

The Lighthouse Celebrates TWO!

THE LIGHTHOUSE: 2nd Anniversary

On June 12, 2014, after two years of renovations, The Lighthouse officially opened its doors. Surrounded by city officials, local vendors, friends, and family, we cut the ribbon and dove right in.

Since that wonderful evening, we've had the extreme privilege of bearing witness to several dozen wedding ceremonies, engagement parties, baby showers, anniversaries, graduations, and even a handful of memorial services. To be entrusted as the backdrop for SO many momentous occasions, and to know we'll forever be intertwined in the history of so many lives, is not something we take lightly. We take pride in what we do, and we appreciate our amazing clients, not only for choosing to join our Lighthouse family, but for being the amazing, down-to-earth people that truly make our job enjoyable.

Last year, our One-Year Anniversary was coupled with a celebration for winning "Marina of the Year". Out of all of the "small" marinas in the nation--The Glen Cove Marina ranked number one. We surely couldn't have accomplished this without the support of all of our clients and vendor friends. Because not only have we had the privilege of working with the best clients around, we've also established some amazing connections and relationships with the most incredible vendors. The support, encouragement, and kindness we've been shown has been overwhelming.

We'll soon be rolling out our "Vendor Spotlight" feature on the LH Blog (along with several other features to help spruce things up around here), so you'll get to know some of these incredibly talented Bay Area event professionals soon enough.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for making these past two years in business so wonderful--we look forward to infinite more!
